We are deeply saddened to share that Sukhendu Pal passed away at home on Friday, the 4th of October, 2024. Sukhendu began his extraordinary life in Calcutta, the ninth of 10 siblings, where he spent his first 15 years before making the decision to move to Sheffield to attend secondary school and university.

Laura was only 26 when she passed away with lung cancer. She had no chance of any treatment as she was diagnosed just 3 weeks before she died. Laura was a good soul who took her Nana and Grandad shopping on her days off work. She also had 4 Godchildren who she doted on. As well as working full time she enjoyed baking and decorating cakes.

The most wonderful wife and mother who passed to a better place on 11/9/11 with such quiet courage. She left John, Elizabeth, Andrew and myself with so many ways to order our lives until we meet again!
In memory of my mum who died 13 July 2006 from small cell lung cancer 5 months after diagnosis and my dad who died 13 June 2011 from malignant mesothelioma 10 days after a lung biopsy and subsequent diagnosis.
The most loving and genuine man that I have known, I'm proud to call you my Dad.

Tommy McCullough was born in Liverpool on November 13, 1942. He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his friends and family.
Our dear Dad always in our hearts.
A compassionate man with a wonderful sense of humour.

Our mum passed away on 4 October almost a year to the day since she was diagnosed with Lung cancer. She was our inspiration in life and we miss her terribly.
Mum died on 2nd February 2007, 7 months after diagnosis. The picture was taken on New Years Eve 2006, 33 days earlier. Never one to complain she leaves a huge void amongst her family and friends. Mum was the most kind and generous person we have ever known. We hope this fund will help prevent this happening to other families.
What a fine young man you were and I was privileged to call you my brother. I've been delaying setting your tribute fund on line for along time because it’s hard to put into words just how special you were to us all.
Ken died on 20th July 2006 and this photograph was taken on 26th February 2006, Ken's 58th birthday and our 32nd wedding anniversary. Ken was a very special person to so many people; a dearly loved husband and father, a fantastic Grampy and a caring brother and friend. He is deeply missed by us all.
My Mum had just turned 55 when she died from lung cancer. We miss her terribly, and as a tribute to her this fund has been set up to support other sufferers and their families.
This tribute fund has been set up in remembrance of Patricia Julia Prendergast. Pat had just turned 63 when she passed away on August 20th 2007, 21 months after diagnosis of this terrible disease. Sadly, like so many, diagnosis came as a total shock and too late to offer Mum much hope.
Alex died some two and a half months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He never accepted that he was terminally ill. He was only 29. He was an intelligent, witty and knowledgeable person. Because he was young when he died, I would like to help towards more research into and a more widely spread knowledge of this dreadful illness.
Dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer [Adrenocarcinoma] on 7 th August 2007 and just 8 weeks later he was taken from us on 29th September. We miss dad so very much and not a day goes by when we don’t think of him. Life without Dad is not an easy task but life does go on and so must we, Dad would want us to enjoy life just as he did.

After over 40 years of marriage Sheila and Alan sadly passed away within 7 days of each other, Sheila on 31st December 2007 aged 66 and Alan on 6th January 2008 aged 82. Devoted to each other throughout these 40 years, the family feel that it was entirely appropriate that they stage managed their final ‘Goodbye’ ……. together!
Our tribute is to Alan Costello-Smith [previously Alan Smith] who died unexpectedly on 6 th October 2007 at the age of 52. The cause of death showed ‘Lung Cancer’ although this had never been diagnosed.This was a huge shock to family and friends as Alan showed none of the symptoms and had never smoked.

My much loved dad was the most amazing man. We were heartbroken when he passed away in October 2012, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was so very brave as he had both small cell and non small cell cancer, but you never heard him complain about his treatment and he remained his cheeky self right to the end.

So, to celebrate his life and to help in research, prevention of lung cancer I have set up this tribute fund. I will hopefully be taking part in the Loch ness 10k. But this is just the start. My dad may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
